Radio Show, Branding, and in California…

Hey, you’re getting this from California, specifically West Hollywood, via the Directors Guild of America. On 9/11/2025, we’ll have a radio show appearance, and you can read and listen to us HERE. Jessica Imhotep hosted a Town Hall on September 6th. As a filmmaker and exceptional human being, she is also an educator, artist, and God-fearing disciple. I discussed Marvel’s situation with her and other creatives in the area. We decided to form a coalition and bring something new for independent filmmakers in the state because Marvel leaving shouldn’t be a death sentence. It should be a wake-up call and an investment in the already creative force that exists in Atlanta. This led to an invite to the speak on a radio show, “A Closer Look with Rose Scott,” and we shared the feelings of many creatives but also of our own personal journeys. Also, a good friend and Indie Filmmaker, advocate, and professional, Brooke Sonenreich was here to share her remarks. There will be a post-mortem interview, I’ll break down and give an analysis soon.

Need Legal Help? Hire WADR LAW.

I had the honor of being connected to a great gentleman and lawyer, Anuj Gupta, Esq. If you’re looking for Venture Capital, Tech, Media and Entertainment, and IP, do consider Anuj. I cite this video as a good start to knowing what you’re getting into. He’s absolutely great. If you need an introduction, I am happy to set one up. Mr. Gupta and I had a lovely conversation on 9/25/2025, and it’s the first of many.

Conference Frenzy

I’m in California and will attend the Film Independent Forum to network and build connections with an organization I joined. Film Independent supports creatives and helps keep indie films alive. For example, look at Anora this year: Sean Baker and Alex Coco are alumni of the program who have become Academy winners.

After the fun is over in Atlanta, it doesn’t stop. I will also be back on Trilith Studios’ Lot to attend the 2025 Cinegear Expo. And subsequently, the Second Annual Dr. Shirlene Holmes Writer’s Workshop at Georgia State University. So September’s end and October’s beginning bring a lot of promise.

Resources Update

I’ll be adding some new resources to the Resources Tab and cleaning up old stuff there. It’s still got some really great stuff. I want this place to be an aggregate landing page for the independent creative class (writers, filmmakers, actors, directors, producers).

Here are some cool things to check out before they are added to the Resources Page:

Closing

California, Conferences, Grassroots work on a feature, and professionalizing myself for the next job opportunity. I’m here, I’m still thriving. I’m the master of my fate and the

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate,
I am the captain of my soul.
